BOMA WM // CREW WM Event
Sustainability at John Ball Zoo

Tuesday, September 19th @ John Ball Zoo Tree House

John Ball Zoo's mission to conserve wildlife and wild places is at the core of everything they do. Recently, the zoo completed a roughly $24 million capital campaign, "Time to Soar", which included a new Meerkat habitat, Pygmy Hippo habitat, Entry Valley restrooms, utility upgrades, and a revamped front entry. Guided by their mission, the zoo put sustainability at the forefront of design decisions and construction methods. The Meerkat exhibit achieved LEED SITES Gold certification, and the Pygmy Hippo Habitat is pursuing the Living Building Challenge Materials Petal certification - one of the most stringent building standards in the world. Join BOMA WM and CREW WM to hear from Allmon Forrester, Director of Sustainability at John Ball Zoo, regarding the zoo's achievement, challenges and lessons learned through these projects.

THANK YOU to our event sponsors: Wolverine Building Group, WindemullerDykstra Excavating, Action Roofing & Sheet Metal Inc, and Catalyst Partners.
