Please join the Mary Free Bed Foundation to learn more about the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and their plans for a new children's rehabilitation hospital. Building design, operations planning, and fundraising operations will be shared.

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital's mission is Restoring Hope and Freedom through Rehabilitation. Mary Free Bed is the nation's most comprehensive rehabilitation provider, and, they believe, the largest not-for-profit, independent rehabilitation hospital in the country, offering 100+ specialized medical and sports programs and services. This rehabilitation hospital offers a full range of rehabilitation programs and services to treat complex and common conditions. 

Since 2016, the number of children treated across Michigan by Mary Free Bed has increased by 73%. Due to the increase, at times Mary Free Bed has had more inpatients than pediatric beds available in the Grand Rapids program, and the outpatient gyms are bursting at the seams. Mary Free Bed has been able to safely maneuver high census situations, but recognizing the unsustainable nature of the situation, is proud to announce the opening of a new free-standing Children's Rehabilitation Hospital.

The new free-standing children's rehabilitation hospital will help Mary Free Bed catch up with demand, increasing access to care and increasing treatment delivery. As part of a joint operating agreement, the hospital will operate in collaboration with clinicians from DeVos Children's Hospital.

As this process moves forward, Mary Free Bed looks forward to engaging construction managers, owners representatives, architects, planners, engineers, Mary Free Bed staff and the greater West Michigan community.
