About the Doug Meijer Medical Innovation Building

The Doug Meijer Medical Innovation Building is innovative and massive! It has been under construction for 18 months and is expected to be complete at the end of 2021. It is supported by 283 auger cast piles and consists of 2,462 pieces of steel. The giant steel beams supporting the outside of the building are iconic and symbolize strength and empowerment to those entering the building. This will be a 7-story, state-of-the-art, 205,000 square foot facility. Its purpose is to create an innovative environment where education, health care, hospital systems and private industry can collaborate to help deliver health care to people faster.
